Blueberry Grunt

  • 2 cups blueberries
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp allspice
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • ¾ cup milk

In a saucepan mix together blueberry, water, sugar and allspice and set over medium heat. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, butter and milk to make a soft dough. When there is plenty of juice on the berries, lower the heat and drop dough mixture on berries by tablespoon. Cover and cook for 25 minutes without moving the cover.
